Air Power – Part Eight: Damage to Aircraft

Aircraft assigned to ground attack may be hit by anti-aircraft fire.

Suppression Hits on Air Flights

A suppressed aircraft immediately aborts its attack and is removed from the table.

Note: Anti-aircraft weapons cause Firepower Suppressions. An aircraft must roll more 6s than the anti-aircraft unit or become suppressed.

Air flight Dispersion

  • If an aircraft’s Disruption equals or exceeds its Cohesion, it is immediately Dispersed.
  • A battle group loses one Air Power Dice each time a friendly aircraft is Dispersed.
  • Disruption Points are not tracked from turn to turn. Remove any Disruption Points when an aircraft leaves the table.

Attacking a German rifle platoon a US aircraft comes under heavy anti-aircraft fire. The unlucky aircraft is dispersed, and the US lose one Air Superiority Dice.
