The Road to Hannut – French Briefing

You must delay the German advance. Fight from concealment, strike the road, and withdraw in order. Hotchkiss H39 tanks from 2e Régiment de Cuirassiers are in reserve and are available from Turn 3 onwards.

French Battle Group

You are in command of an advance screen from 12e Régiment de Cuirassiers, deployed forward to observe the Hannut approaches and delay the German advance until the main French line can be organised farther west.

Objectives

You have two Defender-Held Objectives. A Defender-Held Objective generates no Morale until first controlled by the Germans.

Objective 1: The road junction.
Objective 2: The western road exit.

Controlling an Objective

An objective is controlled when you move a unit onto it and there are no enemy units within 4″ of it. You continue to hold an objective until the enemy moves onto it and there are no friendly units within 4″ of it. Control then passes to the enemy.
At the end of each turn that you control an objective and you do not have Zero Morale, you receive one Morale. If you have zero morale, you instead suffer a Morale Collapse and the game ends.

Deployment

Initial French units begin on the table under Blinds.
At least one Blind must be placed in control of Objective 1. Objective 2 does not require a Blind to control it at the start of the game.

First Command Pulse

The player who rolls the most 6s etc has the first Command Pulse.

Reserves

Turn 3: A detachment of Hotchkiss H39 tanks from 12e Régiment de Cuirassiers is available. It arrives anywhere along the western table edge.

Victory and Defeat

You win a Major Victory by holding the two Objectives and causing an enemy Morale Collapse. You win a Minor Victory by causing an enemy Morale Collapse, but without controlling both Objectives.
