Across the Vistula – Planned Fire Missions

Each side has two planned missions for their Direct Support Battery. They both decide to use pre-registered barrages allowing them to choose two locations for the barrages. The locations are noted in secret and only revealed when the pre-registered barrages are called.

Note: The markers in the photo show the chosen locations. These markers are not placed in the actual game. The Soviet defences are also not placed on the table until revealed. Any units deployed in the defences are concealed by Blinds.

Soviet Briefing

The victorious 3rd Guards Tank Army has entered Poland and driven the Germans back across the Vistula River. You are to defend your position and repulse any German attacks.

Victory

You win by causing a German Command Collapse.

Across the Vistula – 11th August 1944

The Soviet 3rd Guards Army has crossed the Vistula near Sandomierz and is reinforcing its bridgehead. German forces have been hastily assembled and thrown into the attack.

A Gepanzert Panzergrenadier Battalion is ordered to drive the Soviets back from a village defended by a Guards Motorized Rifles Battalion.
