Clash of Steel – German Briefing

The Soviet bridgehead must be destroyed. Engage the Soviet armour and drive him from the battlefield.

Your initial forces are deployed as Blinds. Reserves enter the table from Turn 2 onwards.

Deployment

The Soviet player places one of his command groups as Blinds. You then place one of your command groups. Continue to alternate placing command groups until all command groups have been deployed.

Your Blinds are deployed up to 6” from your Friendly Table Edge.

First Turn

Both players roll their Command Dice. Unless oner player rolls a Command Failure, the one who rolls the most 6s, etc goes first.

Victory or Defeat

You win by causing an enemy Morale Collapse.

Clash of Steel, Poland 1944

With their bridgehead over the Vistula in danger of being driven in by the Germans, the Soviet Guards Tank Corps launches a breakthrough attack. As the Soviet armour advances, it runs into a German battle group determined to destroy the Soviet bridgehead. Both sides call up their heavy armour reserves.

Mission 3 Map

Woods: The woods are Broken Ground (half speed) and provide light cover (+1D).

Hedges: Hedges cost a Fixed Move to cross and provide light cover (+1D).

Hills: The hills are Broken Ground (half speed).

Deployment Zones: The German Deployment Zone is at the left of the map and the Soviet at the right. Units are deployed as Blinds in their respective Deployment Zones.

The Milanese use their two Command Dice to fire their cannon and reform their light cavalry.

Faced with defeat, a despondent Sforza leads his troops from the field.

End of Game. Venice wins!

Milan vs Venice – Turn 9 – 1st Venetian Command Pulse

The Venetian guns pivot and fire at the Milanese Elmeti who take one Hit.

Venice reforms its Elmeti and charges. The Milanese counter-charge.

The weakened Milanese are Dispersed. Milan loses 3 Morale reducing them to Zero Morale.
