Katyusha rockets target the German Blinds to no effect.

The Soviet Recon advances.

The Soviet Recon spots a German Blind revealing the Panzer Regiment HQ.

Clash of Steel – Turn One – 1st German Command Pulse

Aerial Reconnaissance

The Germans use their Air Power Dice to assign a recon aircraft. It makes a successful spotting roll against a Soviet Blind – a BA-64 Armoured Car is revealed.

The Germans used a staff order to attempt a second spotting roll but fail.

Battlefield Fire Mission

With two 6s on their General Support Dice, the Germans call a Battlefield Fire Mission centred on the BA-64 but the mission doesn’t arrive.

Command Dice

The Puma is revealed. It advances, but doesn’t spot anything.

Clash of Steel – Turn One – Dice Rolls

Command Dice

The Soviets roll a Command Failure! Germany gets a Wild Dice and has the First Command Pulse.

Airpower (Opposed Rolls)

The Luftwaffe fights its way through the Soviet Air Cover. The Germans get one aircraft.

General Support Batteries

The Germans roll five General Support Batteries.

The Soviets roll three General Support Batteries.

Clash of Steel – Set-up and Preparatory Bombardments

The Germans and Soviets deploy their Blinds.

Preparatory Bombardment

Both sides open fire with their Preparatory Bombardments, seeking to disrupt the enemy’s communications. Both sides are in light defences (4+ TN).

German General Support Batteries: 6 (4+ TN)

Vs

Soviet Command Dice:  7 (4+ TN)

Both sides roll 3 successes – no effect!

Soviet Dice and Staff Orders

Soviet General Support Batteries: 9 (3+ TN)

Vs

German Command Dice: 8 (4+ TN)

Soviets roll 5 successes, including one 6.

Germans roll 3 successes, including one 6.

The 6s cancel out and the Germans lose 2 Command Dice (5-3=2) during their first turn.
